A Brief History about Alex
Alex Lynch is motivated to serve others. As Walker’s Vice President Finance she brings energy, detail and a concern for those around her to the role. In a warm style indicative of her Southern roots, she is friendly and quickly puts people at ease. She enjoys fixing problems and supporting others in their roles. Whether at home or at work, Alex measures success the same way: making others happy and helping them to be the best version of themselves.
Alex is a seasoned finance professional with a wealth of experience in the public accounting sector. One of her proudest moments was earning her CPA license early in her career. Her resume is diverse and includes some unique roles in her home state of Kentucky. In true Bluegrass-state style, she once worked for the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs as well as the Kentucky state lottery. She’s also worked for Big Four accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers and for multinational insurance advisory and brokerage firm Willis Towers Watson. Alex has experience in mergers and acquisitions, business assurance and has also worked as a senior financial analyst.
Project-based teamwork that allows her to serve others is what Alex thrives on. During her college years, Alex discovered a passion for service projects through her involvement in a sorority. She has continued this pattern throughout her life, volunteering her time in many capacities in her local community. Alex has given her time to a wide range of projects at her children’s schools, for their sports teams, the Young Men’s Service League (a local nonprofit for moms and sons), her church and political organizations. She enjoys staying busy by fixing problems and making things better for others through service activities.
Alex leads a team of professionals whose goal is to be a highly competent finance and accounting team that supports all of Walker’s business units, managers and owners. She says, “We need to be timely and accurate and give them timely and accurate data to support their [business] decisions.” Alex says working with the people at Walker is the best part of her job. When asked what she likes about her job, Alex says, “The work ethic of the people around me [is what she enjoys]. It’s safe. Everybody’s dependable. For sure, the people. I have to enjoy coming into work everyday.”
